D&A Travel: Anders: The Australian barista wave has hit New York after ruling London for years. Bluestone is the most successful and this branch is the coziest. Coffee is excellent but don't miss the banana bread!
D&A Travel: Anders: [Fika] There are six Joe now, from West Village to Harlem, but this is our favorite. Outside on the bench is best, just watching life walk by; inside with a coffee and a book/friend isn't bad either.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Fika] The "mille crepe" cake is alone worth a trip to New York. The main shop is on East 78th street, but this is more accessible - and you can enjoy it outside in Bryant Park!
D&A Travel: Anders: [Restaurant/Bar] Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Crowded and awesome. Our favorite. Amazing small dishes. Sublime chocolate mousse. Nowhere near healthy, but who cares.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Restaurant/Bar] Our favorite Italian, hands down - Tuscan trucker food the way it should be. Try the pepper spaghetti. Book well in advance or try to get a seat at the bar.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Restaurant/Bar] Hyped since opening 2009 may have affected service, but room and food are still excellent, albeit heavy. Get a booth, the lamb burger - and a drink in the adjoining ACE Hotel lounge.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Restaurant/Bar] Art deco-themed cocktail bar with solid menu and special late-night menu (midnight to 3:30am). Try their Ginger Smash, Lazy Lover or classics like Manhattan. Fireplace lit in winter.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Escapes] Largest art museum in the US. Endless collection, from Egyptian tombs to Impressionist paintings. Don't try to see it all in one go. Fee is just a recommendation, you can pay what you want.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Escapes] A stunning building to return to many times. See the beautiful reading rooms (Rose etc), check out the shop and take a free tour (11am and 2pm). Free wifi too.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Escapes] A scenic train-hour North of Grand Central is this gem on the Hudson. Cute main street, great restaurants (Le Bouchon, Hudson Hil), shops (Cold Spring Apothecary) and a beautiful town.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Shopping] Few shops frame the luxury concept of fashion as well as Bergdorf's. Browse and enjoy - and end with a luncheon in the top floor restaurant's hooded chairs. (Men's store across the street.)
D&A Travel: Anders: [Shopping] Great collection of "spiffed up workwear" from well-selected brands makes it easy to find treasures. New shops added on 106 Greenwich Ave (West Village) and 328 E11 (East Village).

D&A Travel: Anders: [Shopping] A truly great book store with clever selections, great magazine department, a good cafe and strong programming with author readings almost every night (mcnallyjackson.com/event).
D&A Travel: Anders: [Shopping] Indoor food concourse with heaps of good restaurants, bakeries, food stores and spaces for sample sales. Check out Friedmans, Green Table, Lobster Place and Eleni's.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Hotel] Feel like a rockstar but have a limited budget? The Hudson is still the best hotel deal on Manhattan, with double rooms starting at $150. They're small, but beds are good the lobby is great.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Hotel] Great location, nice staff, cute lobby and smart rooms. Nothing not to like about Nolitan that opened in 2011. Double rooms start at $250.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Hotel] There are 88 rooms, but still feels like a small and exclusive private club. Impeccable decor, pro service and an oasis-like courtyard. Co-owned by Robert De Niro. Double rooms start at $550.
D&A Travel: Anders: [Hotel] Soho House opened up its NYC club in 2003, converting a huge old warehouse building. Perfect rooms with access to the club, including the roof deck pool. Double rooms from $580.

D&A Travel: Anders: [Restaurant/Bar] Our favorite food court, offering everything from a quick thai delight at the bar by the entrance to French crepes and good lattes. Lots of seating in the back.
