Great small hotel on a secluded island in Tuscany. The setting is spectacular and the service is too. Get room 14 and enjoy a large terrace with amazing views

sit outside under the terraces and enjoy a slice of pizza with the locals in Forte Dei Marmi
Get the pasta with the homemade pesto. Its excellent. Also, when you are done you can go up to the front and pay. Don't wait for a check as it may never come.
room was comfortable and clean. didn't love the location which felt a bit sketchy at night

it's fun to walk the streets, grab an espresso at an outdoor cafe, and get the feel of this very old city on the lake
The view is to die for but the food is pretty great too. We had a shrimp carpaccio that was outstanding.
We did the nine course "creative" tasting menu and it was one of the best tasting menus we've done. Its quite expensive but worth every penny if you want to splurge for a fantastic foodie experience.

A new (2014) luxury resort hotel in the hills of southern Provence in a super cool little midieval town called Les Baux De Provence. In addition to all the expected things it has a 18 hole golf course

on wednesday mornings the town square in this lovely town in Provence, where Van Gogh painted some of his most famous works, turns into a marketplace
go all the way to the top for fantastic views of the Rhone River and the famous bridge
fantastic. we sat at the table in the kitchen and watched the chef and his assistant prepare the food. they make only one meal a night so you don't know what you are going to get until you show up.
You can do laps in the pool on the roof but you have to do a lot of them to get a workout. It's a small pool
really excellent Japanese/Peruvian restaurant. there are two tasting menus. we did the 20 course one. it was too much food in the end. but very much worth it. get a reservation way in advance.
take the elevator to the top floor, go to the cafeteria, get a bottle of water, and sit by the windows. it's a fantastic view of the center city

this is a fantastic museum. they have a very extensive collection of Miro's work from early in his career to very late. plus the views are amazing and the outdoor sculptures are fantastic
you stand at the bar and order stuff and it comes right away. everything we ate was excellent by my favorite was the boquerones
they have a nice table outside that you can sit and read while your girls shop. that's what i did
there are supposedly 3800 pieces in this museum but its actually a pretty quick tour through them all

everything about this place is first rate, the food, the service, the hospitality. the chef comes around & chats with everyone late in the meal. even with all that, i was not blown away by the food.
