Carl Griffin: Beautiful 17th century pub with a pleasant beer garden. Pub closed on Tuesdays. Comfortable accommodation available.
6. The Avenue Inn Durham
Carl Griffin: Very friendly pub offering comfortable B&B accommodation. Food is very reasonably priced especially Sunday roasts. Great real ales.
7. Ship Inn
Carl Griffin: Nautically themed pub. Beautiful sea views from the beer garden. Freshly prepared food using local ingredients. Great real ales.

Carl Griffin: Great value and tasty food. Pub is located on the site of where the first locomotive to haul a passenger carriage placed on rails.
