Xande Macedo: Here is how you are going to wait for your turn: in the mornings — get a coffee at The Cro and a donut at Doughnut Dolly and wait. Afternoons — if you are nice, you can have a shot of Bulleit and wait
David Valentin: Get the Pork belly. I keep meaning to try something else. Everytime I think I'll try something different the waitress comes by asks what I want and I say "I'll have the pork belly."
Brian Strauss: What a Mexican restaurant in Cuba might feel like. Maybe the East Bay's best fish taco. Killer gauc. Can't wait to come back for the pressed sandwiches and plantains.
Adrian Phillips: Incredible Saturday Brunch. The breakfast torta is huge with guac, bacon & fluffy, soft scrambled eggs. Get a side of chips & guacamole. To drink try the horchata iced latte (horchata + espresso).
Adrian Phillips: A welcome addition to Swan's Market in Oakland. Their Udon with chicken is a great meal for one. The tempura is pretty tasty too, featuring shrimp and a variety of veggies from cucumber to pumpkin.
Adrian Phillips: The bartenders are tequila & mezcal experts, be sure to sample a few. The cauliflower was delicious & the leeks were surprisingly outstanding. Their Margarita is on point if you're up for a cocktail.
Adrian Phillips: Excellent cocktail menu. The Oaxacan something is a mezcal spin on an old fashioned. Go upstairs for dancing and what I thought was a pretty fantastic DJ.
Xande Macedo: The original man cave and purveyor of leather goods. All made in the US. Except for some Canadian salvage. It'll be hard for you to leave this shop without acquiring some of their merchandise.
Xande Macedo: This is the best bike shop you will go. Say hello to Jason, Daniel and Smith. They know what they are doing and Jason is a geometry guru.
John W: A few things to know: (a) Good coffee, (b) no electronics allowed at all, incl no laptops, (c) big windows with no blinds means it gets really hot on sunny days, (d) loud music, (e) cinnamon toast
Adrian Phillips: Although the building is enormous the cafe itself is small and lines can wrap outside. I had a fantastic macchiato using their featured espresso and wasn't disappointed. The foam art here is strong.
spaulding: The old WC Morse building is a lovely space. I love the old school tiles and unique chandelier. Bonus: their espresso machine repair workbenches are out in the open. Get the New Orleans Ice Coffee!
