Climb around the ruins, find the cave, if its low tide you can climb one of the big rocks in the surf
Huge Ginormously Beautiful Park. So much to do, to see - botanical gardens, dog parks, museums, gardens, bison, lovely cruising ride to the ocean, or anywhere in the city, esp on a Sunday - no cars.
While in the park, stop by the observatory tower for 360 views of San Francisco. It's free and normally not a line- though the line to the special exhibits might block the entryway.
The Japanese Tea Garden is over 100 years old and one of the most serene spots in the city.

The Ferry Building is very popular, and I recommend it to anyone who is visiting San Francisco. They've got great restaurants (Slanted Door, MarketBar) and a morning farmer's market a few times a week
Be prepared to wait for a table and then consume some of the freshest oysters around. Watching the pros shucking oysters is something magical.
Great local deli...I particularly love their salamis. They also have a lot of unique, European snack items.
Everything is good. Everything! Daily specials are clutch, so many epic curries. Friday coconut fish is my favorite. Or the lentil soup. Whatever you get, Anula made it and she's the best.

Bring layers because it gets hot and cold very quickly between the sun and shade. Only the 4:30pm ferry goes back to the Ferry Bldg. All others only go to Pier 41.
