Make it in to see the fort, it's epic and almost unknown how much history they have stored up in there. Plus a cool view of the city toward North Beach & the bridge. Tap you hands at the runners mark.
Great place to see any free concert on a good weather day, but foggy most others. Bad place to be if you are allergic to mosquitoes or have a seat on the hill.
Unappreciated view of the bay and city. Catch a glimpse of Twin Peaks from here (my fav view of the city) and down to the bay over Pac Heights toward Sausalito and Alcatraz. Dog park big area.
Painted ladies and breathtaking view of Russian Hill / Downtown from the east side. Another beautiful view and dog park of the west - more fog though.
Most complete & breathtaking view of the city, bridge to bridge. And almost every part of the city from one spot, all except the sunset, but you'd only see fog there anyways. Pano that ess.
Beautiful view of GG Bridge. Nice to cruise by on a weekend ride around the bayside to oceanside coast. Rock Climbing across the street. Wetlands, BBQ's etc.

Huge Ginormously Beautiful Park. So much to do, to see - botanical gardens, dog parks, museums, gardens, bison, lovely cruising ride to the ocean, or anywhere in the city, esp on a Sunday - no cars.
Supposedly an epic forest walk, which I still have to do but am planning on soon.
Another hike I need to make time for, if only it weren't so blasted cold there most of the time. And I weren't already heading over to Upper Haight to shop or sell something.
Not so much a park as a journey and a view. But if you're near nob and marina areas try to search out this hidden path, promising spectacular views of the upper bay and some of the homes along it.
Should you want to see one of the most crowded but beautiful areas of the city. Probably only park w/o a radiant view hovering above the city around it, it's actually a low-set 1, but views nearby.
One thing I really like about the city is that it takes the highest hill summits, says no one man shall have this spot & plants a park at the upper most point, for all to enjoy and share the view.
Beautiful view, beautiful under-appreciated and often-forgotten park in the city, misfortune of residing alongside the worst part of Western Addition.
Glen Park,, on the other side of the hill, soft, quiet, lovely, forgotten. Come see all the eucalyptus.
