This is the oldest part of Westminster Palace, built for William II in 1097. This was the meeting place for medieval parliaments and courts, and is where Charles I was put on trial in 1649.
Burial and coronation place of most English monarchs. Highlights are the coronation chair, poets corner and the lady chapel. A must visit to understands its importance in British history.
Architecture from the Elizabeth Tower, Palace of Westminster, Portcullis House, and more besides. A great place to people watch. Often busy with tourists.

Fitting tribute to a National hero. Nelson died at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 where the French and Spanish fleets were destroyed. Children love climbing over the lions at the base.
The four bronze lions at the base of Nelson’s Column were created to protect the monument. They differ in detail of mane & face; but sit in the same position with front paws symmetrically forward
The latest sculpture to sit on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square is entitled ‘The Invisible Enemy Should Not Exist’ and is made of empty Iraqi syrup cans. It will be in situ until 2020
Along the middle path from the main archway it is lined with square stones. Stand along this line behind the stones and you will get a good view of the guards cantering past after change of guards.
A historic and famous landmark in London. Lovely place to walk through in the summer, the fountain is a must see. Otherwise, eat your lunch on the wall, or meet friends here in the evenings.
Piccadilly is named after a type of broad lace collar fashionable in the early 17th century, the ‘piccadil’. The best examples were sold by a local tailor whose shop became known as Piccadilly Hall.
My fav London-street. Don't miss out, it's near Oxford Street, but here you find more alternative stuff. It's a great place for hipsters and you find brands as Dr Martens, Lomography and Cheap Monday.
Don't walk down Regent St to get to Piccadilly Circus; too crowded. Cut down Carnaby St then other side streets for a quicker walk and interesting small shops on the way.

Shakespeare globe theatre from the 1500's. We walked in while they were rehearsing for a new play. Excellent place for a historical visit and the tour was very informative! Have fun while you can.

Europe’s largest brick building was given classical flair by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The station went off-line in 1983. In 2010 plans were approved for redevelopment into offices and homes.
Visit this instead of the London Eye. Only 300+ steps or so, it's cheaper and it is better for your health. Lovely views from the top and you get a certificate as well!

Fantastic beers, well kept, but sadly just not the same as other brew dogs, doesn't offer the fantastic food of shoreditch or have the ambience and atmosphere of She Bu.
So good to have a member of the BrewDog family in the heart of the West End. It's slightly tucked away from the busiest areas, but can get packed. Great, creative hotdog menu for when you get peckish.
BrewDog is always a good choice. Nice sunken bar with the BrewDog aesthetic and a healthy selection of theirs and guest's craft beers.

Open only till 2pm there is a whole host of options. Seasonal, saisons, fruit beer, choice is endless and good value. Can get really busy so try to get there early. There's some seating but limited
Great beer! Good selection of IPA, pale ales, and collaboration. I had the transatlantic overdrive collaboration for breakfast which was excellent as was the scotch egg!

Hidden away - beers straight from the micro brewery - tasting boards so you can try 5 beers (1/3 of a pint each) - loads of outside seating with heaters and events with music and street food!
A rotating selection of craft beers that's a little on the expensive side (£2-3 for 0.5 pint) but a chill atmosphere. Check out upstairs for relaxing sofas.
