Simon Willison: Had work leaving drinks here from 5-7pm and it was the perfect venue for them - fits a large group, has non-alcoholic and alcoholic drink options, not too loud and they serve excellent cookies
Simon Willison: This is a great museum. The stories of the women presented here are inspiring and fascinating. They also have some really cool mechanical flight simulators on display, including one from the 1940s!
Simon Willison: Outstanding museum - a hugely eccentric and eclectic collection of items. Don't miss the 19th century wedding cake samples (tucked in a drawer between the British and Foreign moths)
Simon Willison: This place is incredible. It has working fairground rides from the 1940s and even earlier! Highlights include the largest Dodgems track in the UK, and the terrifying Moonrocket from 1939
Simon Willison: The desserts here are excellent and hilariously over-the-top. We had a rainbow crepe cake, a matcha lava cake and a very complicated Japanese shaved ice thing.
Simon Willison: The mole here (more almond than chocolate) is superb, the stuffed pepper with plantain likewise. So get the Mexican Combo and try both! Make sure to specifically ask for the plantain option.
