The pandas makes this totally worth going. The rest of the park is rather weird with an old school theme park and a safari zone where you can drive through with a car. Entrance fee is quite high.
Great pork ramen and friendly staff. If you do not like pork you should probably avoid this place since the menu has only a few alternatives.
Beautiful white sand and clear turquoise water makes this the perfect beach. Definitely the main reason to visit Shirahama.
Great pizza in a nice and cosy location. Tip: Make a reservation since the place is quite small.
Sleep in a temple and visit the ancient buddhist cemetary which is beautiful and creepy at the same time. Not many good restaurants though.
If this is the japanese version of McD it's lightyears ahead of the original. Burgers are made once they are ordered and they taste really great.
Loved the creaking floorboards inside the castle. Try to not make a sound while walking inside the rooms. The garden is beautiful too with a teahouse that has tasty scratched ice with mango.
Great brand with authentic military and workwear clothing. Kinda pricey, but definitely worth it. Unfortunately they do not offer tax free shopping.
Go up to the top. It is is exhausting, but only few tourists do it, so you can actually take pics without having 50 strangers in your way and you'll be rewarded with a nice view of Kyoto.
Located in a quite area of Kyoto not too far from the station. Friendly staff and clean rooms.
The main attraction for me was actually the forest around the shrine. For a short time you can forget that you are actually in one of the busiest cities in the world.

Entry fee is rather cheap and of course everybody loves pandas. Unfortunately the zoo is not really up to modern standards.
Been there for the Studio Ghibli exhibition in September 2016 which was brilliant. It's on the 52nd floor so you will also get a great view over Tokyo.
Crazy supermarket that is open 24h and where you can buy anything from beer to Gundam model kits or cosplay outfits. Love it!
