Street Food Thursday: a reason to be alive. I cannot describe the joy of tasting world street food in a cosy happy atmosphere. This is a MUST.
What's not to like? The good coffee? The great cocktails? The amazing old pharmacy interior? The beautiful outside space? Great one!
If you don't like this place, go see a doc. Food is GREAT (looooove the crispy thin salami pizza), beer is cold, air is fresh, view is amazing, and the nature is exhilarating. Do NOT miss this.
Perfect place for a summer coffee along the Spree river, with a nice piece of chocolate cake on the side. Plus, it has a bookstore inside!
This should blow our minds. It almost did. Food was good - as good as German can be - but there was something missing. Some "edge", some passion. Maybe next time.
Petra really knows her kitchen! This is a very small place (2 tables inside, 3-4 outside) with a VERY ORIGINAL GERMAN menu. I know german food and this is it, really. If you are around, do it!

Wide variety of nuts and dried fruit. High quality stuff, so... high prices! You get what you pay for. Service is very friendly and they even make decent coffee.
One of those places you always know will sell you good quality. Not the most creative sweets and desserts, but always fresh and presentable. Solid choice.
This is a nicely made place. The service is good and friendly, the room is cozy. The food is pretty good BUT the menu needs a total remake, as it's almost the same for many years now. Try it.
Old school tavern, older than most of us. Good meat, neat salads, fresh ingredients. Room's OK, it's a tavern. Meatballs are the specialty here, and I love them! Service is very friendly. Thumbs up!

OK. I was really positive coming here, having heard that it's a true German restaurant. It is, but it's also a mediocre one. Service was on it's bad night. Food was just OK, nothing more. Beer was 👍.
Nice mall near the city centre for all your shopping needs. Not too big, not too small, just right.
Do not allow yourself to miss this. UNESCO are protecting it for a reason. Take the tour, the guys are ex-miners and really make it worth your time! I would LOVE to come back here anytime!
Good city hotel. Clean and spacey room, silent and very close to the center and the shopping district. Fast and free (W)LAN in the room. If it has to be Essen, then this is a good choice.
Have heard a lot about this place. My view: very good food (hope they change the menu for the hotter months), very 70's-like interior (in a good way), top service. Prices are high, though.
This is an amazing seafood spot. Great service, greeeeeat food. Good for non smokers. Prices are OK for what you get. Try anything, it is all very well made!
Let's be clear: this is not your first choice in the world, but you sometimes "have" to sit and eat something fast nearby. Soup and pizza were good, beer was cold. Nothing special, but absolutely OK.
