Come here early. It's awesome when it's deserted. Take the downtown backpackers tour of the Great Wall and shop here when you get back.
Rooms and concierge are excellent. Skip the food here but do order the American breakfast room service (enough for two!) before hitting the Great Wall. Wifi in rooms with Starbucks and subway nearby.
If you are in good shape, Take their trip to the "wild" Great Wall. You do not need to be a guest at their hostel to join. It was amazing.
The performance was wonderful, costuming amazing, and you can take photos. As a dancer I can say this was one of my favorite fine arts performances ever. The museum however needs some help.
