Mix Beef Noodles: MYR7. Less oily than Soong Kee with a wonderful clear soup. The place is kinda hot though, but it's yummy.
The menu says, don't ask just order their signature French toast. Fluffy and comes with a huge dollop of cream.
Their signature meatballs are really an excellent starter. Yummy ground beef in excellent tomato-based gravy. Great with toasted bread.
The pork sausages are good. Excellent bite. The place is big and airy. Although there is a kids play area there, it's not too noisy or distracting. They have the Bookshop Cafe menu on weekends.
Tuna Tataki Salad - fresh vegetables, generous portion of Tuna, good presentation. But the dressing is a bit on the salty side.
Beautiful interior, majestic seated Maitreya statue in the main hall. Check out all the Buddhas in niches all around the sides. And there's a museum upstairs and a giant prayer wheel.
Don't be distraught if you can't get a seat inside. Having brunch al fresco is a breeze with the ample awning, natural shade from trees and fans. Try the Eggs Sur Le Plat. Spicy sausages with eggs.
La Mian with Shredded Eel - the broth is superb. Wafting with the aroma of good chicken stock. The noodle texture is good too, but when it came, it was stuck together at the bottom. Had to untangle it
I'm not a waffle fan but The Rebecca is pretty good. Light and fluffy with an amazing Earl Grey ice cream. The rose latte reminded me too much of bandung. Good decor, perfect light for photo
Try the gnocchi- slightly spicy with bacon. Good bite to it and the flavors go well. Their tomato-based seafood stew had very zesty flavours and consisted of calamari, salmon and mussels.
I'm not a fan of red velvet, but their offering is quite good. Coffee is also commendable.
2016/01: Service staff are so lacking in training. And the menu is not updated. Sad.
Steamed herbal chicken drumstick (whole) with noodles and plenty of Chinese cabbage. A steal at MYR12.
The kari kari mini salmon pizza is on the promotional menu. Salmon flakes on a super crispy crust. More like a tortilla. MYR10.
Autumn Ramen is thick with the taste of Bonito flakes. SGD1 to add seaweed, SGD2 for ajitama and SGD4 for the works.
Old time favourites are their XO fish head noodles, claypot lou shu fun, Guinness chicken wings and stir fried intestines. Prices are a little steep though. And the fried rice is also worth a mention
This beef noodles is not the most popular choice there. Average. Around SGD5-6.
