Village Voice: Of all the macaron sellers in New York City, this spot has the biggest array of flavors. They've got the classics like salted caramel and black currant, but also some funky flavors like rose-lychee!
Village Voice: They've got delicious Thai curries and noodle dishes, but we love the coconut omelet. It's a messy but delicious thin omelet wrapped around shredded coconut, bean sprouts, scallions and peanuts. Yum.
Village Voice: Decked out in 1960's memorabilia, with a nod to all things Elvis, you can't go wrong with and oozy-melted grilled cheese sandwich on white toast, plus it comes with (best potato ever) tater tots!
Village Voice: Birreria has quite the innovative beer-garden menu, but we're particularly taken with the mushrooms (they work surprisingly well with beer!). Get the maitake mushrooms served over creamy pecorino.
Village Voice: No other Chelsea Spanish restaurant has the old-school charm of El Quijote. The menu is vast, so here's our advice: the shrimp in garlic sauce is top-notch, as are the pitchers of champagne sangria.
Village Voice: Specializing in traditional and Latin American sweets, they have an absolutely incredible flan. It's nicely jiggly and has a slick of caramel on top -- what more could you ask for in a custard?
Village Voice: Once inside this charming spot, you'll be greeted by super friendly staff and seriously tasty grub. Our favorite is the grilled bratwurst over spaetzle and cooked cabbage. Hearty, rich, and delicious
