This area formerly known as the “Valley of the Dolls” houses three residence halls, Gilbert, McCormack and Rodes-Harlin. "The Valley" used to house all female halls, but McCormack is now a male hall.
The Pioneer Log Cabin was constructed in the mid-1930s to commemorate and interpret Kentucky's pioneer life and once served as the childhood home of film director John Carpenter, a WKU grad.
The WKU Police Department is found on the bottom floor of Parking Structure Number 1. Our campus police department at WKU is a fully licensed and accredited law enforcement agency.
WKU's E.A. Diddle Arena is in its 50th year of operation in 2012-13, and serves as the home of Hilltopper and Lady Topper basketball, and Lady Topper volleyball. Students get in free to all games!
Smith Stadium is home to WKU's Div. 1A Hilltopper Football Team and is host to Sun Belt Conference rivals. Smith Stadium is entering into its 45th year of operation in 2012.
Completed in May 2008 at a cost of $2.5 million, the complex houses a number of amenities to give Hilltopper athletes, as well as the local community a facility for practice and competition.
The 4,200 sf clubhouse features coach's offices, a 250 sf equipment room, a locker room and a players lounge. The clubhouse has an on-site training room for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
WKU has put nearly $3 million into enhancements at Nick Denes Field. Among the most noticeable changes include a press box, indoor hitting facility, and a clubhouse that opened in 2010.
The WKU Softball Field, built in conjunction with the soccer field, was part of a $1.2 million development to create one of the finest softball facilities in the conference and region.
Zacharias Hall is a 3-story residence hall that is arranged in suites where two rooms share a bathroom. "Zach" houses 206 upperclass men and women and is located on the south end of campus.
Meredith Hall is a 3-story residence hall that is arranged in suites where two rooms share a bathroom. Meredith houses 188 upper class sorority women and is located on the south end of campus.
Douglas Keen is a split-level residence hall that underwent a significant renovation in 2008. Keen houses 353 men and is located on the south end of campus across from the baseball field.
Between Keen Hall and PFT, you will find a food court that serves the bottom of the Hill. Inside is a Burger Studio, an Edy’s Ice Cream Shop, a convenience store, and a Popeye’s Chicken.
"PFT" is a 27 story, co-ed residence hall located on the south end of campus. This landmark hall was built in 1970 and is the tallest residence hall in Kentucky.
Poland Hall was built in 1969 and is located on the south end of campus right next to the Preston Health and Activities Center. Poland houses 400 women.
Barnes Campbell is a 9-story residence hall that houses 384 men. Barnes is located on the south end of campus across from the Preston Health and Activities Center.
Bemis Lawrence is a nine-story residence hall that houses 384 women. It is located on the south end of campus next to Barnes Campbell hall and across from the Health Services Building.
Home to WKU's first doctoral program, the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program, which is currently beginning it's 9th semester of student work.

The Preston Center offers students, faculty, and staff one of the finest recreational sports facilities in the country. A 14,000 square foot Fitness Center addition was opened in the Spring of 2010.
Built in the memory of friend of WKU, Lowell Guthrie's brother, Robert Guthrie, who was killed in the Korean War, as well as all of those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.
This $18.3 million facility houses our award winning School of Journalism and Broadcasting, including Photo, Print, & Broadcast, and advertising, public relations, mass communication, and film majors.
Named for our current university president, Ransdell Hall houses the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Educational Resource Center and counseling programs. It is a LEED certified building.

Bates Runner is a three-story residence hall that houses 147 upper class men and women who are in the Honors College and is located in the middle of campus across from Downing University Center.
The Bate Shop is located on the end of Bates Runner Hall and serves as a convenience store for students.
Home to the Gordon Ford College of Business that houses majors such as marketing, accounting, finance, management, economics, and computer information systems. (awesome Hill elevator shortcut too)
Florence Schneider Hall is home to students enrolled in the Gatton Academy for Mathematics & Science in Kentucky, an early college entry program for advanced high school juniors and seniors.
This building once served as the home of our first president, Dr. Henry Hardin Cherry. It will house the WKU Alumni Association until January 2013 when the new Augenstein Alumni Center opens.
This non-denominational chapel holds up to 80 people, and offers a place for worship, wedding and memorial ceremonies and a place for alumni to place their ashes if they so choose.
The office of University president, Dr. Gary Ransdell, as well as several vice presidents’ offices, and our Office of Graduate Studies and Research are all housed within this building.

Built in 1911, Van Meter is the oldest building on campus and houses a 1,000 seat auditorium used for a variety of activities including concerts, recitals and plays.

"EST," Built in 1975 this building is home to all of your earth sciences such as geology, geography, meteorology, and agriculture.
Built in 1967 and used for astronomy shows and academic pursuits, this building is used by the astronomy program for labs and also features presentations that are free and open to the public.

Thompson Complex Central Wing, which was built in 1967 and named for WKU’s third president, Kelly Thompson, houses lecture and lab facilities for physics, astronomy, and chemistry.
