Harlem Ambassador: This cb is full of longtime eastharlemites that are more grassroots and active in the "barrio". meetings tend to be very pro Latino, though others are getting into the mix. If only for the computers.
Harlem Ambassador: The pantheon of political life in Central Harlem. Be sure to bring, id, your firstborn, and leave sharp objects behind if you expect to make it past security and to your appointment on time.
Harlem Ambassador: If you've got the cash you'll have all the flash. It just won't be in your wallet once you leave. Service and staff is superb, but get the bill and you'll realize it's part of your package.
Harlem Ambassador: Unless you have been shot or are having a heart attack, skip this home of medical misfits and hustle over to Mount Sinai on 5th and get the care that you're really expecting. In need of the basics.
Harlem Ambassador: Top notch for medical care in New York. Known as the poor man's New York Presbyterian. Go for seminars, basic care, and the occasional lunch lectures that are offered on the monthly. Recently expanded
Harlem Ambassador: You know that an institution has to be top notch if kings, heads of state, presidents, and celebs are willing to do the uptown trek to get care. Malcolm X actually passed on here. Best in category!
Harlem Ambassador: When planning to attend a community meeting here, bring your fire extinguisher, as things can become quite combustible with the old school angry Harlemite mixing it up with the "better than thou" set.
Harlem Ambassador: 4 hour meetings may be commonplace as most of the agenda consists of those that are making noise complaints, (That's one hour), and those applying for liquor licenses. (That's another hour) Quite long
Harlem Ambassador: Apparently the maternity ward is award winning. If you are coming in with a bullet wound, or some other malady, this may not be the first thing that comes to mind. The redo may help it's current rep.
Harlem Ambassador: Harlem's version of Grand Central Station is a convergence of upper east side and Westchester county, it's a wonder that they can't keep the riff raff at bay outside of this waiting area. Convenient.
Harlem Ambassador: A renovation is in progress. Built in the 1950's was considered art. Now Jersey buses and an occasional jaunt upstate. Less crowded than it's downtown cousin & not nearly as accessible. Tired stores.
Harlem Ambassador: This is Central Harlem's main library. The computer classes are top notch. Laptops allow for usage w/o a reservation. Some locals may lack library etiquette. At least it's light & airy. Prime locale.
Harlem Ambassador: The popularity of this branch has it often at capacity. Crying babies? hmm. This one serves Sugar Hill and Hamilton Hts. Each branch offers classes and events and a recent upgrade hasn't hurt either.
Harlem Ambassador: Being state of the art and very modern means that this branch location becomes well attended by Columbia types and "Upper upper west" residents in need of free computers and other various resources.
Harlem Ambassador: Best known for Harlem Week preparations that last throughout August, membership will get you a discount. Local biz still struggles and this crew still hasn't seemed to figure out a formula for that

Harlem Ambassador: Your chances of making in and out of here in an hour are slim to none. Come prepared with snacks and entertainment. Especially during the holidays. If an elderly person is in front, switch lines.
Harlem Ambassador: The bilingual branch of El Barrio. It's a shame that regardless of how many people are inside, things just seem to crawl. If you don't have a translator, and who does, ignore the drunkards out front.

Harlem Ambassador: You're likely to get more love if you own property or business from these seasoned crime toughs. Local brats have seen their share of question, stop & frisk. Not for the fainthearted. some side mural
Harlem Ambassador: The cops have the right attitude for pissing off anyone who doesn't agree. Since this is the middle of crackville, they have seen just about anything and don't care to see much beyond. very jaded.
Harlem Ambassador: Rough and tumble has progressed into light and breezy after some much needed upgrades. Many events take place so grab a flyer and explore. Be sure to check out nabe tours and/or local events.
Harlem Ambassador: Computer access is the local draw, but don't miss the money mgmt series or any wealth/community building events. Known for profgressive politics. It's been around a while and it's starting to show.
Harlem Ambassador: Every uptown artist of color seems to be connected to this institution that has been around for ages. The events are too many to mention. What these folks lack in finance they make up in connections.
Harlem Ambassador: If the line out front to get in during the morning hours is any indication of what's inside...then clearly these folks are in need of the services. We think it's the computer access solely that brings
Harlem Ambassador: Smaller than other branches with the same traffic. If a class has used the laptops, then count out reserving them for any part of the day. The lack of a rug means quiet may be a thing of the past.
Harlem Ambassador: With all the services inside of Riverside church, It's not surprising that one would have some difficulty finding this medical school alternative that offers massage therapy and acupuncture as courses
Harlem Ambassador: Best know for their networking events and run by a city agency, this place is actually quiet and user friendly above 96th st. Those that want to bring and laptop and work get space. Needs light.
Harlem Ambassador: A communal work space that offers tech assistance, accting help & workshops. Two levels with a downstairs conference room. Small and personable. Bright colors make the space seem bigger. Bright & hip!
Harlem Ambassador: want a corner office, w\ a view, the prestige and some swagger? Rent here. But, realize that rents have gone up. High floors have best views. Modern luxury gives professional appeal. No receptionist.
Harlem Ambassador: GBLTQ Youth of color don't get too many options these days. So, this drop center fills quite a void. Generally services are geared toward the homeless or at risk youth. Programs are being developed.

Harlem Ambassador: Actually the quietest for studying just off of the Columbia campus and on bustling 125th street. The morning gets great sunlight and those wooden back benches are perfect for a paperback read.
Harlem Ambassador: This has to be the quietest branch as a result of Ikea type carpeting and a studious group that is here to get work done. The staff is on their game. The leather seating with swivel top is perfect!
Harlem Ambassador: Who has ever heard of a library that has iMac's? The open and airy study space w/ large sunny windows is primo for getting work done. While the book supply is not where it should be, it's quiet & open

Harlem Ambassador: Being hidden on a quiet block in an area that is not heavily populated makes the fact that it is at capacity during off peak hours all the more confusing. The DMV could provide more courteous service.

Harlem Ambassador: Space is micro managed to stifling levels. Food in fridge is tossed w/o notice. Offices not so private with sound that travels. Key card issues & telemonitor means kinks need work. New mgmt may help!
Harlem Ambassador: Designed for those that work inresearch and medicine, the space will not appeal to most. There is a lot happening in Manhattanville and this is part of the anchoring of tech in W. Harlem . Cool shop!
Harlem Ambassador: Located in Little Senegal, this office creates the award winning paper that serves the West African Masses. You are not going to get this coverage on Africa from any US publication so pick up a copy!
Harlem Ambassador: The business incubator downstairs is well needed to accomodate the new entrepreneurs that take advantage of tech & biz seminars. Don't be late or the desk person may get snippy. Many resources inside.
Harlem Ambassador: These guys are newer to the Harlem scene and appear to hire the young fresh set for new apts and properties that fill quick. It's their rep amongst other realtors that leaves questions in the mind.
