This Museum was established in 1912 as the City of Rochester, New York's Municipal Museum it has since evolved to meet the changing needs of the greater Rochester community for nearly a century.
In 1893 the park opened to the public as a recreational park, but by 1894 the first animals were seen in the lower portion of the park, where guests could find birds, trout and deer.
