Joe Brolgs: $2 beer cans, good music, dive bar. My favourite bar in the city. No dance floor. Good old dirty bar that looks like someone decked it out in shit they found at your grandma's garage sale.
A BCD: Donation-based admission (just give them a dollar). Check out the Temple of Dendur room - it's my favorite!! Also go up to the roof if it's open.
A BCD: MoMA's museum in Queens. They have really fun day parties called Warm Up in the front courtyard on Saturdays in the summer. http://momaps1.org/warmup
Joe Brolgs: Aus themed bar. Amazing roof top with Manhattan views. It's a bit of a walk as it's right between Williamsburg and Greenpoint train stations but worth a stroll and a beer.

A BCD: Old-school Jewish deli with amazing fish/lox and bagels. Can be kinda pricey but it's so amazing and delicious and worth checking out to see the shop.
Joe Brolgs: Library of sketch books. Cool merch. The only books you've ever read are the Harry Potter series so don't worry about the awesome book store over the road.
A BCD: Speakeasy cocktail bar smack dab in Chinatown. Looks like a Chinese pharmacy from the outside. Lab-themed and all of the mixologists wear lab coats and mix your drinks in vials and test tubes.

A BCD: Favorite local bar back when I lived in this neighborhood. They have free popcorn (with Old Bay seasoning) and a really nice backyard for drinking.
A BCD: Nike SB just opened a skate park here with amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. They have open skate days. There's a schedule online. http://osanb.org/north-brooklyns-new-skatepark/
Joe Brolgs: There's good Faile and Basquiat exhibitions on at the moment), the Faile one is awesome. Pay by donation.. give them a dollar for 2, no need to get carried away.
Joe Brolgs: Best place for a stroll, at the end of Maine St on the water there is some good steps with probably the best views of Manhattan from Brooklyn.
A BCD: Gross and gritty bar/club under the bridge in Bushwick. Cover charge after a certain time on the weekends, but fun for really late night dancing and such.

Joe Brolgs: Check it out on a weekend, (the path there will be packed) lots of basketball courts and the free aerobics classes are good to watch for a laugh.

A BCD: Awesome old movie theater. Seats have little tables and you can order food (usually themed to the movie, how cute) and drinks. Tickets sell out, so buy in advance. http://www.nitehawkcinema.com/
A BCD: Weekend food booths. Likely crowded and the bane of our existence because people swarm our neighborhood :( but it's definitely worth checking out.
Joe Brolgs: Nightclub on the top floor of a high-rise. free entry. $16 buck spirits. Totally worth the views. Make sure to go up stairs from the bar, there's a really good terrace.
A BCD: Old school sorta weird scene, but you don't have to stay! Get a margarita to go! They give you a foam cup so u can walk out and drink in public (illegal). McCarren Park is close so go black out there.
Joe Brolgs: Dunkin' is shithouse, don't step foot in here. My train station is over the road though, I have a wheat paste up near the stairs on the north side.
A BCD: Yummy restaurant with a meatball-focus. Lets you mix and match balls and spaghetti and subs and stuff. There's a few other locations around the city.

Joe Brolgs: A bit of a secret this one for a roof top bar with close up views of the Empire State. Take the lift in the hotel to the top floor. The hotel is in K-town, so you'll feel relatively calm and at home.
A BCD: Carnivalesque boardwalk and (not a very nice) beach. Good for people watching all of the weirdos and wandering around. Take a ride on the ferris wheel and eat fried dough with sugar or a hot dog.
Joe Brolgs: Super historic hotel. All the old rockstars and artists lived here. Johnny Rotten killed Nancy here. Bob Dylan wrote Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands here.
Joe Brolgs: Walk over from Manhattan to DUMBO. Head to the Brooklyn Bridge Park for the view, get some ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, and some pizza at Grimaldi's
A BCD: Tom's favorite banh mi sandwich place. Get the classic/#1/whatever the main one is. He could eat 10000000000000 of these a day. Get a vietnamese iced coffee to go with it.
