Belle Meade Bourbon
90.4 proof-started by two brothers, charlie and andy nelson, they have revived their great-great-great grandfathers green brier distillery. Before tennessee went'dry in 1909 green brier produced some of the most popular whiskey in the country. Belle meade is a blend of s 1/2 and 7 1/2 year old kentucky bourbon. It has a nice long fruity finish with a nice amount of spice from the 30% rye content.

94 proof-the reverend eliiah craig was a baptist minister who is viewed as the “father of bourbon for pioneering the use of charred barrels to store and mature the whiskey he made. 80 proof- first trademarked by georgia born paul jones, jr. in 1888. the story goes that a southern belle, who jones was in love with, wore a corsage of four roses to signify her acceptance of his marriage proposal, hence the name he gave to his bourbon. Jim Beam
8o proof- aged 4 years. Jim beam dates back to the 18th century when german born farmer jacob boehm travelled to bourbon county, kentucky from virginia, carrying a copper pot still. He is reputed to have sold his first barrel of whiskey for cash in 1795. vanilla and delicate floral notes on the nose. Initially sweet, with restrained vanilla, then drier oaky notes develop.
Maker ‘ a Mark
90 proof- established in 1805 maker's mark is the countries oldest working distillery remaining at its original site, after being machine filled, each bottle is labeled by hand and then dipped in wax. Makers Mark 46
94 proof- makers 46 is created by removing full ma-tured makers mark from its barrel, affixing 1o seared oak staves to the inside of the original barrel, then putting the maker's back in and aging it several more months. 46 is the project number assigned by the barrel maker to the process used to sear the oak staves. Maker’s mark is the first distillery to use this process. Pleasant, sweet, toasty-oak nose, with caramel overtones. Rich, creamy, seared oak flavors. Caramel and vanilla notes linger on the front of the palate, but it is still soft enough to hold on the tongue, even at 94 proof

Colonel albert bacon blanton worked for 55 years at what is now buffalo trace distillery, starting as an office boy in 1897 then graduating to distillery manager in 1912. blanton’s was created in 1984 by master distiller elmert lee, who worked with blanton in the 1950’s.
