g oconnor8월 11, 2015A word to the wise: Huy Fong foods is the original Sriracha, Sambal Oelek, and Chili Garlic Sauce company (one brilliant ex-pat Vietnamese). Note the green tops and the rooster - those are Huy Fong's!

One of the few places in Des Moines that carries my favorite Oasis Hummus made by Oasis Falafel out of Iowa City, IA. Their pita chips are pretty awesome too.공감1비공감

The only place I have ever seen a vegan Bánh mì and it is amazing. Vegan chili is also the best I've ever had. Non-meat options in general are winners.공감1비공감

Gateway has the largest cheese selection in Central Iowa. Try all of them! The Fontina is just awesome. Plus they have Dulce De Leche, the unique milk caramel from Argentina.공감비공감

If you're getting food to go, ask if you can get it in a paper bag. The plastic ones don't hold up very well (we've had more than a couple instances where food ended up all over the car).공감비공감
