Did you know that the AGO's spiral staircase, designed by Frank Gehry, is purposefully narrow so that people could bump into each other and fall in love. Ahhh!

The best thing about this museum is the architecture, it is a lovely building. If you are visiting Toronto, make sure to stop by for a visit. Mixed feelings about their collection in view.

At $CA 25 it is the most I have paid for entrance at a museum. But it boasts an impressive collection thanks to its founders, benefactors and private collections that were once enjoyed by a lucky few.

Gorgeous spiral stairs that lead up to the top floor gallery. Don’t forget to check out the basement which has many models of naval ships, mostly from Britain. It’s spectacular and often overlooked.

Gratuito às quartas feiras entre 18h e 21h. Salas e mais salas que exposições maravilhosas. Vale muito a visita, mas sem pressa. É para deliciar-se devagar.

Right On: Maybe the best salad buffet in town every other Friday at the AGO Cafe. The exotic toppings seem to be disappearing as they may be having a hard time staying in the black. Best hidden gem

Passeio incrível! O acervo é muito bom: tem peças tradicionais e modernas. Também tem muitas atividades que podem ser feitas e muitos guias. A arquitetura é linda por dentro e a loja é bem completa.

Edificio espectacular que combina madera y cristal, curvas y rectas. La colección permanente reune arte de todo el mundo. Miércoles de 6:00 a 8:30 visita gratuita. Ven a la Jackman Hall durante TIFF!!

The architecture alone is worth coming. Add the view as well as the Group of Seven exhibits to make an enjoyable and worthwhile visit. To see everything more visits are needed. Seems great for kids.

This is a great museum that focuses on art both European art, First Nations art, and Canadian artists. There is a collection of model ships on the bottom floor.

Great museum with plenty of art to see. Mostly by Canadian artists but they also have works from artists around the world including Picasso, Monet, and Rembrandt.

Guided tours can be tough to follow specially if there’s a lot of tourists. The collection is awesome, though. My favorite is “the lady of Shalott”

This museum is definitely worth the visit, permanent collection of Canadian and European art, great contemporary exhibits. Building itself is very well designed as well

Check out the First Thursdays event; it's a pretty good time. I went to the one in October for GDT exhibit/Peaches concert. FANTASTIC idea/execution.

Un lugar excelente para pasar todo el día viendo arte de gran calidad. El sótano también tiene una interesante colección de barcos a escala.

La sala de Henry Moore tiene originales de gran formato en yeso. Imperdible! Arte canadiense de todas las épocas, todo ello en un edificio de Frank Gehry

The AGO App provides a great way to understand the exhibits while you are looking at them using the tour feature. But be warned, not all the exhibits it will guide you to will actually be on display.

Don’t forget to check out all floors including 3, 4 and 5. The main attraction 1 and 2 but the elevator to the others back side of the building for special events and contemporary

When exploring the Art Gallery of Ontario, look for the picturesque Frank Gehry designed spiral staircase. It is a statement piece in itself and worth seeking out.

Free on Wednesdays after 6pm. But wait an extra hour to come so the queue subsides; it doesn't take as long as you think to walk through the gallery and you'll have more room to do so!

You'd probably need about a full day or two to really go through the art, but definitely worth viewing. Go on Wednesday nights, 6 - 8 is free!

The Michelangelo exibit right now is really stunning. Getting to look into the mind and ideas of an artist of that time is a sureal experience.

Fantastic building and galleries. The best stuff is on the first three floors but go to the top to look out the window.

Go on free Wednesdays. Good selection of exhibits, with a focus on Canadian content. The building is as much a work of art as anything in it.

The Vow (2012), which stars Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, is filmed in many places in Toronto. The lovers exchange their vows at a guerilla wedding staged in the AGO.

For sure it's worth a visit - the building is beautiful! It's a must-go for the architecture itself. But when I went there (Auguts'15) I found the collection pretty poor and disappointing.
