Curry Matsuba: Probably the best izakaya on the west side, if not a contender for top izakaya in Taipei. 25 seats, always crowded, specializing in Okinawa flavors.
Curry Matsuba: I only order the cold [sic warm] noodles with an egg and the senbei crackers. Both are heavenly. All pickled sides too sweet and other udon dishes don't stand out.
Curry Matsuba: Old school Shanghainese home-style food w/o the cornstarch slick and rock sugar laden goopiness. Never see young people there because flavors and decor are three decades past - a good thing
Curry Matsuba: Hands down the most underrated coffee joint in Taipei. From green beans to black gold in a cup, this is a serious coffee drinker's coffee bar. Best of Taiwan contender
Curry Matsuba: Thus far, the only authentic Korean BBQ in Taipei. Good meat quality but unfortunately it's gas not charcoal. Just. Can't. Have. It. All.
Curry Matsuba: White beef soup, thin slices brisket, thin flour noodles, adjust your own salt and spicy. Huge clean beef flavor. AYCE kimchi Napa and daikon. Open 24h and dirt cheap for the value.
