Frances James: The most famous Palace in Seoul (although I found Deoksugung prettier), sprawling. If you want to go in the center temple, you have to buy a ticket in advance (day before).
Frances James: Old, cute neighborhood to wander around - lots of street food and traditional eateries. All the signs have to be in Korean so there is a fun Starbucks sign in Korean characters instead of Roman
Frances James: The BEST bingsu (traditional Korean dessert) in Seoul. So creamy and not icy like some other bingsu. Go with the traditional flavors... soooo goooooood. There are quite a few locations of this chain
Frances James: Fun izakaya that's set up like a food court - you go choose your drinks and food from various stalls and sit at one of the many indoor tables
Frances James: Very cute meerkats who will try to burrow in your lap when you hold them! They SEEM to be treated well. There are other exotic animals there too (wallaby, foxes), which I feel more mixed about....
