When swiping your ID card on the barriers, hold it an inch above the scanner and swipe it slowly, don't slide it. Scanners here isn't as bad as the ones in the Sydney Jones exit barriers.
I prefer Sydney Jones to it but if you're planning to do some overnight reading and sleep - a better option...
