Eater: Most of the menu is straight-up Creole, among the best in town. You will likely have to wait for a seat, but the Maple Leaf Bar is half a block away, so it’s no big deal. [Eater 38 Member]

Dennis Leon: Fried chicken was phenomenal. Mac and cheese was meh. Potato salad and fried okra were very good.

Peter Lada: Best Fried Chicken: Willie Mae's Scotch House. It's right around the corner of from Dooky Chase. They're famous for their fried chicken. It started off as a Scotch house.

Dan: You must try the Train Wreck Po Boy or the Jambalaya bowl. Be sure to get a loaf of cornbread! The Train Wreck Po Boy is an excellent hangover cure.

Ryan McGinty: Can't go wrong with the fried shrimp or fish. The gumbo is the best I've had outside of the South.

Ayi3 A: The new Chicken Gumbo tastes like Manila's Chicken Caldereta on steroids. It's super spicy in a good way.

Kingsley Younger: Apparently the gumbo here is not as good as it seems.

Colin Sng: Try the gumbo. Unique and I quite liked it. Mix the rice in! Also the deli-bar is a great way to fill up on salad, soup and protein.

Kingsley Younger: Read that there was chicken gumbo available here but no longer unfortunately. 

Lidya Chu: They've changed management quite a lot, therefore they always changes their menus. I love the old BJ, I think it's def better. I love the chicken gumbo and cajun chicken.

Irina Radzi: If It's your first time, just order from the burger/hotdog section. Tried the cajun chicken, Double BB burger, brownies with vanilla ice cream & country mushroom soup. The best was the Burger! :)

Szen: Best Cajun Chicken ever! Everything is reasonably price.

Kingsley Younger: The Jerk Chicken Sandwich looks absolutely sumptuous, as shown in Eat St. The Jerk sauce is spiced with habanero. Do take note that there is cheese in the sandwich for those who don't take dairy.

Jane A: This location is much bigger than the one on E Capitol Expressway, so you DON'T need to come 30mins-1hr before they open to wait in line. 
