Don't believe the rumours: Ysi is still excellent, which can't be said for most of the places in Punavuori. Chicken Coriander isn't what it used to be but there are plenty of great alternatives.
Finnish Museum Of Photography - everybody should go there. Also @ Kaapelitehdas: exhibitions, venues, parties, cultural events. It's an old cable factory - go check it out!
I loved the caffe latte! I was expecting good coffee, but it still took me by surprice :) Affordable price, excellent value. Highly recommended :)
Best public building in Helsinki. Buy a book, get a t-shirt, run through the exhibitions, hang out in the bar and terrace. Outside you can listen to urethane & wood, the ultimate Helsinki soundtrack.

Run around Töölönlahti counterclockwise, otherwise you're doing it wrong. Btw, full circle around Töölönlahti is about 2.1 kilometers

Excellent place for a morning swim! One of the two public open sky swimming pools in town. Open only from the end of May until late August.
Places to visit: Kumpuoti, Kapusiini and the official livingroom of the neighborhood Oljenkorsi.
Check out this public beach on a sunny day. Surrounded by high cliffs to explore and on the bank of a nice river, it's nicer here than on Hietaniemi beach in the city center.
An oasis for nature lovers, Seurasaari island is in near-natural state, save for the footpaths, and a refuge for countless species.
Cosy little island in the middlepoint of Helsinki. Locals have some 100 little summerhouses here so pay respect to those who have their own little paradise here :)
