Matt Ta-Min: Great salt beef. It's a bit on the pricey side, but you are in the Selfridges food hall, so what do you expect! Sides of coleslaw and beetroot salad are also good.
Matt Ta-Min: Easy trail walk around the peak. Really gentle with very little up and down. Amazing views out over HK and Victoria harbour. Definitely worth doing, takes about 1 - 1.5hrs to complete.
Matt Ta-Min: Small beach easily reached from the pier. Beach is well kept but you do have a view of the power station round to the right! Lamma family trail goes right past it & on to the other side of the island.
Matt Ta-Min: Really easy walk, only a couple of slopes that are manageable by almost everyone. You get sea views, go past beaches & through little villages. Quite a few snacks stalls en route. Takes about 1.5 hrs
Matt Ta-Min: Great day trip. 30 mins from Central pier 4. Then lots seafood restaurant choices, a couple of easy gentle hikes with sea views & a couple of easily accessible beaches. Nice alternative to urban HK.
Matt Ta-Min: Quality of cocktails, food & music is high ... but you sure pay for it. Worth booking a table & arriving after 10pm on the weekends to catch the band from the start. Great atmosphere with the music.
Matt Ta-Min: Steamed milk dessert is what people flock to this small cafe for. Also good are the silky tofu desserts and the papaya milk. You can also have noodles / pork chop and other HK cafe style dishes here.
Matt Ta-Min: Great burgers, friendly service. Sweet potato fries and the corn cobbler are reliably excellent. Obviously pricier but way way better than the Maccy D's that it is next to.
Matt Ta-Min: Really big and fresh oysters. Lots of choice of varieties. The rest of the food choices is not too bad, though it is all rather seafood based. If you want to eat oysters then highly recommended.

Matt Ta-Min: This lounge is the one to use if you are @ gates 31 & above. This one is a bit better than The Wing @ gate 2. Better buffet, no noodle bar but more choice of Asian & Western food. Bar has a worse view
Matt Ta-Min: This little town is smaller and quieter than Shifen though still quite close by. Worth visiting on a day trip from Taipei. Beautiful countryside, and friendly people.
Matt Ta-Min: Really lovely & quaint small railway town with a little gift shop. The bigger tour busses don't seem to visit Jing Tong and that means it is a bit quieter and less commercial. Worth visiting.
Matt Ta-Min: The seafood here is truly amazing. Go for the top level set menu (TWD 2280 / person) and you'll have the greatest seafood meal of your life.
Matt Ta-Min: I stay here every time I'm in Taipei. Very comfortable and the service is excellent. Decor and style is classic but it is all done very well.

Matt Ta-Min: Loads of stalls selling Taiwanese snacks. From sausages on a stick to cookies, cakes and noodles. Best thing we ate was the stuffed chicken wings. Gets quite busy with tourists.
Matt Ta-Min: Beautiful waterfalls just outside of Taipei. It does not take too long to get to, and after you can wander around the quaint streets of Shifen, Pingsi and Jiaotong.
Matt Ta-Min: Great Izakaya bar. Good sushi and sashimi, excellent stuffed chicken wings and cartilage. Great place for late night beers, sake and tasty snacks.
