Tip 1) if you're being picked up, it's easier to be picked up in departures (upstairs). Tip 2) cell phone coverage is bad (especially at bag claim)... Arrange your pickup location beforehand.
Hon. Diallo Rabain JP, MP7월 21, 2013American Airlines Admiral Lounge in Terminal D is one of the best I've visited! There are 2 in the terminal and both are equally as good.
The car rental is a bit detached from the main terminal hub, make sure to plan adequate travel time when returning!
Worse airport in the USA. The soft carpeting makes wheeling luggage feel like you’re dragging it through sand, and bathroom stalls are barely big enough to accommodate a suitcase and close the door.

Mandy K!7월 15, 2012Take the metrobus express route 150 to head to south beach. Only 2.35 one way. Cabs are 52 dollars! And there are only a few stops so don't worry about bad parts of the city.

Check prices from Fort Lauderdale if you're flying nationally, FLL is usually way cheaper!! And just 23 dolar share ride away (and the shared rides from there are allways almost empty!!)

When you get to baggage claim, go straight outside and grab a free Smartecart and save yourself 5 bucks. People that get taxis, Supershuttle, or picked up, leave them on the curb.
Is good to travel! And if you go international duty free is always a nice perk!

If you need to get an Uber from here, cheapest pickup location is at the tri rail. Follow the signs there and beat the system 👍
You are in Miami! Yay. Remember to leave extra time on your return to the airport. The main way out of the keys was closed (fire maybe) so we has to take the long and slow way.

Karla6월 6, 2013Terminal D is fantastic. Lots of unique and tasty food options. Which is good because the AA Admirals Club leaves a little to be desired.
All the good food options are in Terminal D. If you’re flying out of Terminal E, eat in Terminal D first!

The BEST food is at La Carreta near gate D37. Hmmmm it niiiiice!!!!! Breakfast lunch or dinner. Can't go wrong.

This airport is HUGE so give yourself ample time to get through security and to your gate
The Miami airport has been inefficient for a very long time - unless you are lucky with the lines, at this airport, it is very important to allow enough advance time to get passed security.

Bring a coat and a pillow. This airport is super cold and there is a severe lack of chairs and walking space. This is my least favorite airport. The experience should be so much better than it is.
And please, people, travel light with the carryons, hv slip off shoes, don't wear belts or jewelry, put it all on AFTER you go thru TSA... don't people know this yet!?!?!?!? Need line for peepslikeme!
