Anthony V: The Carpenter Center is LeCorbusier's only work in the United States. So influential, LeCorbusier is on the Swiss 10fr note.
2. MIT Stata Center (Building 32)
Anthony V: By Frank Gehry, the building was supposed to mimic the Infinite Corridor, providing a "student street" on the ground floor.
3. MIT Media Lab — Building E14
Anthony V: The outer screen's opacity was specially calculated to ensure the building met Cambridge's strict 50%-closed surfaces mandate on buildings.
4. Baker House
Anthony V: The first of the modern buildings on campus came as then President Killian sought to "humanize" the environment on campus and invited Alvar Aalto to do a building on campus.

Anthony V: One of many buildings by Luis Sert during his time at Harvard. Others include the Holyoke Center.
7. MIT Chapel (Building W15)
Anthony V: A small but beautiful work by Eero Saarinen, famous for the TWA Flight Center (Terminal 5) at JFK Airport and the St. Louis Arch.
8. Boston City Hall
Anthony V: The much maligned plaza is fanned shaped, as a reference to the famed palazzo in Siena, Italy (home to the Palio).
