Charles8월 17, 2014Not to be missed when visiting Memphis. Prepare to spend a few hours in the museum and the former boarding house across the street. A fascinating, and somber, tour through African American history.

Raquel11월 10, 2015A must see in Memphis! Make sure to do the audio tour. There is so much to read and the subject matter is intense so the audio tour helps balance things out so that you don't miss anything.
Rachel Starks5월 27, 2015After the multi-million dollar renovation, this museum looks AMAZING! The museum takes you on a time line from the shipping of slaves to the U.S., up to and continuing past the civil rights movement.

David Squires4월 17, 2014I like what they've done with the place. The museum is open every day except Tuesday, but they have nice interactive videos on the plaza outside that can be seen night or day.

Social News Network6월 11, 2012The exhibits include a great amount of information and history on Civil Rights, but the moving documentary on MLK Jr. you cannot miss! There will be an announcement when the film is about to start!
During the summer, the museum stays open until 6 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. Also, you can get in for free on most Mondays from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. with a Tennessee state I.D.
