Smashing (and rare) beer garden in the City fringes. Food is also very good. Gets way too busy on a Friday.
Opening shortly after the Great Fire, this ancient pub was regularly visited by Dr Johnson when he was taking a break from writing the first English dictionary, at his home in nearby Gough Square.
If you're going on a Friday in summer be sure to arrive before 1 as the crowds to gather!

My office local. Amazing drinking outside in the summer and super-crammed in shoulder-nudging in the winter. The staff are lovely and, if it's a Friday night, look out for me :)
