The J. A. Belt Building on the corner of Diamond and Summit Ave. was built in 1903. Prior to Growlers, it was the Olde Towne Tavern which opened in 1993 with the newly-added side addition.
Originally built in 1835, John Layton, the first postmaster of Laytonsville, inherited this house in 1847. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Due to BRAC 2005, Walter Reed Army Medical Center will relocate here no later than September 15, 2011. The new name will be Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
This train station was originally built in 1873 by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. Station was moved in 1981 from the original site to current location to make room for the Rockville Metro Station.
