#1-5 are my favorites, in no particular order. The rest are great, too. Try them all and tweet me @Dallas_Foodie your comments so I can keep this list updated.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): This joint was recommended to me by several taco experts as the BEST in Dallas. Authentic, amazing flour tortilla, but the 4 meats I had were a bit dry. Still worth a taste. (formerly Tacos El Guero)
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): The sketchy neighborhood adds to the authenticity, and so does the fried pork rind taco (chicharrón). Fajita is their most flavorful meat though. Opens at 3PM and stays open past 2AM on weekends.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Crazy taco fillings you've never heard of and a menu that changes with what's fresh. If their tacos weren't so unusual I think they'd be more appealing. Note: they close at 3PM.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): You have to get the cornmeal fried oyster taco—it's delicious and I've haven't heard of one anywhere else. Also, they make their own double layer red velvet cake that is worth saving room for.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Torchy's is like a slightly more mainstream version of the crazy taco fillings at Good 2 Go Taco, but Torchy's has more menu options. They were originally a food truck in Austin.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Their seafood tacos are the best: Grilled Fish and Grilled Shrimp never tasted so good in a tortilla shell. Also, their taco salads are HUGE for just $6.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Street tacos in an atmosphere that'll make you feel like you took a minitrip to Mexico. Skip the tacos and go for the Burrito. Same great meat, more fillings. :-)
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Fuel City is for truckers and white people looking for authentic Mexican tacos. This taco stand is where the actual Mexican residents of south side Dallas get tacos. Bonus: they have a drive-thru.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): Late-night tacos at their best! When the bars close, there's no need to go to Taco Cabana around the corner when these are fresher and cheaper. Voted Best Breakfast Tacos by one of the DFW news sites.
Dallas Foodie (Danielle G.): The chorizo breakfast tacos hit the spot, but avoid the chorizo & bacon at all costs. Their bacon grease smells rancid or something.
