This is a much better home airport than it is a connecting airport or final destination. Pros: affordable parking, destinations. Cons: Rental Car facility distance, making quick connections

Adrienne1월 26, 2012Travel a lot and deal with "normal" air travel problems often but I will avoid IAH always (awful layout, long lines for help, of course humid and, though friendly and caring, no REAL help given).

If you are arriving on an international flight brace yourself for long lines at immigration and customs. Expect 1 to 2 hour processing time.
Make sure u also have either a bright bag tag to identify your bags at baggage claim and yiur name in everything. Easier to track u down that way

Seriously IAH, you have to think big. You need charging stations with seats around and a bigger & better food court, specially at terminal B

The BikeNomad1월 4, 2015In Emirates a backpack with laptop is not considered a laptop bag but a cabin luggage. It would be better to carry just one bag. Sometimes you get lucky and they check in your 2nd cabin luggage.
If you have a long layover after midnight— make the way to Terminal E. Every other terminal isn't worth attempting to sleep for your layover. I've tried.
Make your way to Cat Cora's. Really the only restaurant worth sitting down at in the airport.

If you haven't been to terminal B lately...you're in for a pleasant surprise!!! Skip the food choices when going through security if you're going to gates 31 and below.

Terminal E has the best United Lounge. Always clean, quiet and friendly!

The airport is really easy to navigate and you can get from one gate to another in 1/2 an hour... customs/security not included of course
Business traveler power move: if you're flying United Express and qualify for TSA precheck, use terminal C and take train over to B to save time. Bonus: better food choices in C than in B.
Make sure you arrive at Least 2 hours before your departure time and follow the signs to find your gate and or correct terminal.

My iPhone's personal hotspot provides way faster wifi to my laptop than the Bingo complimentary wifi at the airport.
Make sure you take a picture of your parking information in the parking garage (located on a nearby column) to help you out when you get back from your trip!

Yum.- If departing out of concourse C and running late, go through the E concourse instead. There is almost never a wait and has saved me today and other days. Once through security take tram or walk to C.

Give yourself ample connection time here. You'll walk your legs off between terminals and the Sky Train went out while I waited for it. Only made flight because it was delayed even then I was last.
ATTENTION ALL VISITORS: When in terminal E, you must eat at Pappasitos. Anything else is a blatant insult to this city of delicious food.
