Daniel Herrera6월 10, 2014If you come early and your flight is at night the most efficient solution to visit the city is renting a car which allows to carry your luggage if your airline is not open all day.
All of the terminals have made big improvements for food/drink options and ambiance. Transportation is still a disaster. Grab and Uber or lyft from the departures level

LAX is changing for the better but still has long way to go. I've never had too much of a wait for TSA or immigration/customs. The main problem is the traffic getting to it. Avoid T3 and T6.
If you're flying AA (or anyone out of terminal 4), stop by Homeboy Bakery for the best eats- and help a favorite nonprofit in the LA community as an added bonus! It's right after security
Wander Lust10월 27, 2023Clean airport. TSA lines move fast. Lots of places to eat. Best part is that everyone is nice and friendly.
If you are on United express take a short cut from the first gate entry in terminal 7 (with pre-tsa it is fastest) and then get ready for a nice brisk walk to terminals at the very end between 81 - 86

Ariel Herman7월 9, 2017In true LA fashion, the traffic at the airport can be horrendous so budget that into your timing. Also the terminals here aren't connected so make sure you know which terminal your flight leaves from.
Everything is great here just make sure to give yourself about an hour to get through tsa. I love the bars

If you have a connection make sure your phones/tablets/laptops are at full battery...or else...- Rachel B7월 20, 2016Mind your booking details! We were told traffic would be bad, so get there early. We were told TSA lines would be bad, so get there early. All well and good except the ticket counter isn't open.
The United terminal has a lot more pricier eateries that close about 11pm so if you don't want 2 spend a lot, eat before you come, or try out the Food connection spot. Don’t expect to get anywhere fast. You need to take a shuttle bus (of varying frequencies) to get anywhere upon arrival… whether it’s rideshare, public transport, or rental cars. 👎
There are lounge chairs that are decent for napping near the 4th floor airline lounges in terminal 2. Global Entry is so worth it if you travel internationally and return to LAX. Such a smooth and efficient Customs process. Whatever your travel time to LAX, add another :20 to get to the actual terminal once on the roadway. Traffic is as bad in the airport as outside. Also if you a frequent traveler get CLEAR. Its GOLD.
For Backpackers: Go Airport or Super Shuttle are available outside at the curb for a cheap ride. USA Hostels Hollywood is a brilliant stay for a great price and atmo and perfect location
If transiting from united to intl, you can walk to the intl terminal without another TSA check. If you have Star Alliance lounge access you can get your boarding pass there (at least for Air NZ)
Great airport, easy to move through security quickly. Food is overpriced, but fairly efficient place to travel through.
If you have a Priority Pass, it’s worth calling them and asking if they accept it - on Sunday, I’ve walked to every lounge that was on the list and I was turned down in every terminal.

When you land at Tom Bradley Terminal on a layover, after you cleared customs, go right back in to cross security. It's much faster than walking outside.

The lemonades in terminal 5 (delta) is hands down the best restaurant at the airport. If you're feeling lucky, sneak into the delta sky club across the way for free booze

May N.4월 8, 2013For an airport this size w/the # of domestic and int'l passengers coming through, it's pretty deplorable and disorganized. Give yourself extra time dropping off your rental and taking the shuttle.
