    Some of the best Italian food I've had. Same sentiments from everyone in my group. The eggplant parm is built like lasagna, the daily special was awesome, and even the hamburger was fantastic.

    One of the best crab cakes benedicts I’ve ever had. Eggs were poached to perfection & the crab is fresh with a light crispy breading. Chef Benjamin chatted with us and told us about new recipes.

    New brunch menu on the weekends is really good. They've upped their donut game but you'll find all your favorites like the salmon tartine, Joe's special, and the new Brunch Burger (get it).

    I loved this place. An old school place with all the classic comfort dishes served by waiters in tuxedos. Everything I had was superb and I plan to be back again soon.

    I had the scallops they were out of this world. I come here every time I fly home to Marin with my parents! The service is always top notch!

    Sit at the bar for faster seating. Sometimes, if you're lucky you'll also get some free grub. But it's also really fun to be close to the action as the kitchen is right there

    Keeping in line with its name, this longtime legend sticks to the original roots of the Old Fashioned: muddled sugar, 
cherry, orange, Angostura bitters, soda water, and Woodford

    High quality San Franciscan Italian American classics. Come as you are — not fancy or is it? Incredible marinara. Get anything that comes with it.

    Delicious. Portions are really big. Order patiently :). Prices are tightly coupled with the portions 😀 we loved it.

    Butterscotch Pudding. Definitely old school, but incredible nonetheless. The salted caramel sauce is such a nice addition. So, save some room!

    They dont call me Big John for nothing ive done nothing but enjoy food my whole life. This is SF's best Italian spot ive ever dined at. Service, atmosphere and amaing food! gnocchi w short rib ragu!

    Went healthy with the fruit and yogurt plate - big berries ! Sat outside on a sunny Sunday. Def would do again. Cool period pics of Sophia Loren in el quarto del bano.

    One of the top ten dinners I have had in the last 5 years on business. Food was very good, lots of activity in the bar but not cramped. Very nice.

    New York steak, yellowfin tuna special and meatballs were all excellent. Great cocktails and service. Love the owner showing us to our table!

    Came for drinks, the Original Joe's Chardonnay was great. Snag a table in the bar area and you can order food as well.

    Veal piccata is the best! Come hungry the portions are big. Avoid driving here 1) north beach parking is a joke 2) the drinks are great too!

    The key lime pie is very very good. Stroller accessible. Friendly staff. Very nice decorated. The pasta alfredo was ok. There are no changing table at the restroom.

    D-licious! It's a fun experience to take out-of-towners or for a special occasion. Reasonably priced. HUGE portions.

    Get a reservation. They are almost always busy. Avoid the wait. Enjoy the decor. Much is recovered & restored from original location in the Tenderloin.

    Love, love, loved this place. Pesto linguini was amazing, just enough garlic in the pesto and the wait staff was great

    The cheese burger was excellent, beef was juicy and the roll was crunchy & chewy. But it was way too big. I rather it be half the size, so that I can sample other dishes

    Decent food. Atmosphere completely bereft of any charm (Italian, San Franciscan, or otherwise). Could be any shopping mall on the planet.

    Great location but they blew it on the service and the "Prime Rib" special was like 2 pancakes! Plus they forgot our onions. Mgr apologized and offered free stuff. Too bad

    a little disappointed with the ravioli. it felt overrated however the signature dishes like the pot roast was juicy and cooked perfectly- not dry. not an outstanding restaurant, just average
