Oh my gosh you can't go wrong pretty much. Food is approachable veg friendly pub food on the surface u til you really read the menu and have a few things and realize how refined it is.
The fries (chips) are really outstanding. I wouldn't usually say that about a place. They are prototypical. Good food. Friendly. Wonderful beer list with UK influence: a few nitro taps. Comfy.
Great halal fast food. Delicious mildly spicy fried chicken sandwiches. Double is massive. Lavino sandwich has chicken rolled around pimento cheese w/olives. McDonald's fries! Great service.
Pasta fagiole and Joey's Chicken, which is French influenced white wine lemon chicken just done over angel hair. Both delicious. Solid drinkin' wine picks and friendly service.
This is no longer closed. Brand new one opened and it's extremely nice.
What a unique place. Case in point: polenta torte with chive oil. I think everything must be delicious .
Pizza is solid Chicago flat crust pub cut. Not my preferred style but they make a high quality tasty pie that is very well regarded. Nice people, good to watch a game in comfort and w/Zywiec on tap.
Recently reminded how delicious this place is. Dry pot tofu similar to wood ear mushroom but has four (!) kinds of tofu - crisp fried, sautéed strips, smooth skin, and crinkly skin and very numbing.
Buffet had some interesting dishes like an egg curry and the South Indian tiny hollow pillows you fill with liquid - forget what those are called.
I always get the yakisoba with chicken. Quickly stir fried leaving the ingredients fresh and chicken tender. Nice amount of carrots and cabbage.
Chicken sumac sandwich. Perfectly tender and juicy chicken cubes freshly sautéed with onions, mushrooms and lemon slices in a sauce. Piping hot, made to order! Outstanding.
If I buy a house I want to furnish it entirely in futons, platform beds with futon mattresses and futon chairs just to interact with this delightful store more.
