This is THE place I'd take a visitor to experience Taiwanese culture, the food is great and flavorful, in my opinion portions are big enough and it's always packed with people who enjoy themselves!
If you carve for a refreshing sweet treat this is a great place to stop by. Douhua 豆花 is homemade, you can taste that.
Tasty Ramen, rich flavor. It's on the second floor of Songshan Railstation, can get pretty full with waiting lines.

Don't miss this Night Market if you're in Town! I loved the varieties of food, creative new food creations often make it from here up to Taipei. Authentic since it's simply not overrun by tourists
Coffee is not bad, it was quiet the time we visited this shop. A little hidden but it's a tip if all those Starbucks are fully crowded.
Cosy place to work or relax in. Design is spacious and gives you enough privacy. It's a whole building with second floor, a bit hidden from the crazy 101/Xinyi area
This is the second Journey Kaffe with way more space and an interesting concept: DIY food. You pay less and can make your own pizza, sandwich or Smoothie. Great fresh food and many power outlets
Cozy coffee shop, you get the option to enjoy authentic Taiwanese bubble tea or (of course) Vietnamese coffee.
Look for them on Airbnb, great deal, very friendly and convenient to get everywhere downtown as well as if you want to get to the airport.
Tasty and authentic, though a bit on the pricey side. The owner and most staff are Indian living in Taiwan for over 30 years.
