    The chicken gets all the buzz, but so many great things on the menu ! Sit at the bar one night also - great vibe. Wish I can come more often !

    If your table doesn't get at least one order of Waxman's amazing half chicken you have just made a BIG mistake

    It's a great place to have dinner and sit outside. In the summer, it's best to reserve seating beforehand, as it gets crowded. I tried the chicken and it was a bit dry.

    Solid spot for a lunch / dinner in the summer. Lots of fresh air / sidewalk seating. Get a half order gnocchi and the roast chicken.

    I know everyone talks about the chicken but not going to lie, the goat was much better! Also enjoyed the cauliflower salad and meatball.

    Pro-tip: get the side of potatoes with rosemary and pecorino. If you needed more convincing, they're DEEP FRIED.

    Favorite. Garage doors- open in summer. Roast chicken, pastas, desserts- every dish, every time has been perfection. All hail Waxman!

    Great spot for Brunch in West Village not overly crowded at noon. Best item on the menu uovo al forno - baked eggs with polenta, creamed spinach, and Parmesan.

    Have the fumo del mare while at the bar waiting for your table, the pollo al forno & potatoes for your meal, and the italian pudding for dessert. Can't go wrong!

    Potatoes are to die for and gnocchi is always amazing. Great place to sit outside in the summer with the doors open.

    When you order the Budino for dessert, ask for a side of breadsticks to enjoy the best pocky you've ever tasted.

    Honestly... the chicken was dry, not organic look. Don't know why people say is the best. You need an extra side of oil to swallow it. Very good kale salad. Carbonara bucatini was very peppered.

    Jonathan Waxman's roast chicken is well portioned for two. Share it, and start off with the duck liver bruschetta or one of their pastas.

    Seasonal menu makes it tough to tip but the calamari is great and more like a shrimp Caesar than a fritto. The spicy tequila drink was a miss

    If you don't get the gnocchi then shame on you for 6 months. I'm an italian and gnocchi snob and that was the best I ever had. Seriously!!!!

    Amazing! Gnocchi, Bucatini w tomato onion & pancetta, Wild Striped Bass in Gazpacho, Skirt steak - yum yum yum. Desserts - even better; order one of everything - seriously.

    Food is consistently a knock out but staff and service just as consistently underwhelming. Friendly, just... spacey and inattentive. Still worth the visit, just something to keep in mind :)

    Exceptional!! The gnocchi with lamb sausage blew me away. So light and delicious. And the blood orange salad was perfection.

    Food is absolutely delicious, but it's expensive, especially since the entrees come with no side. I ordered fish with fennel, but I'm still looking for the fennel. If you see something, say something!

    If you don't get the roast chicken, you're doing it wrong. Huge portion sizes and lively atmosphere. West Village fav.

    They really do have one of the best roasted chickens in NYC. Also, don't forget the potatoes—they are crack.

    Nice terrasse, friendly staff, really good food (any starters and the potatoes are my fav), over priced not that great wine. Overall nice experience.

    Get the chicken - it's juicy and so delicious every time! The ragu and brussels sprouts are must haves if they are on the menu as well.

    Everyone knows how perfect Waxman's chicken is, but if you come here for brunch the Uovo al Forno is a must order. It's simply delicious!

    Delicious eggplant topped bruschetta. The seasonal gnocchi is great. So is he sweetbread appetizer. Try the hazelnut chocolate chip ice cream sundae for dessert. The food is heavy but very satisfying

    Per Frank Bruni: a seasonal salad as an appetizer (go for the shaved brussels sprouts!), the roasted chicken as entree.

    The appetizers were delicious, wine selection was nice. The steak and chicken plates left a lot to be desired. Definitely expected a better meal considering how highly the waiter spoke of the food.

    Chef/owner Jonathan Waxman started his career at Chez Panisse. Get the Pollo al Forno or the Pizza Cavolo (lunch only for pizzas).
