Christina Cacioppo: a bartender's choice, rather than any prepared drink, is the way to go. we asked for two spicy drinks; one came with jalapeño and the other with pepper. both were fantastic.
Men's Health Mag: Ever been to the catacombs? This is like it, but better—there’s beer. You enter into a dim, tomb-like underground. The beers are imported and largely monk-made. Ask for a Trappist recommendation.
Andrea Hong: Awesome spot for cocktails, esp of the whiskey variety. Lots of seating good for a date or groups, and takes reservations. Live jazz on stage in the back. Get the Kentucky Julep!
Jordan Kong: From the folks who brough us Alta, Cata's standouts include chickpea fritters, deviled eggs, mushrooms a la plancha and an extensive G&T list. Great for groups!

Daria Wong: Head upstairs to The Parlor for the mixology. Bartenders are super attentive. Hot drink? Archbishop. Absinthe? Julep à la Thomas. M-F 5-7pm $1 oysters and absinthe cocktails for L'Heure Verte.
Meghan: One of my favorite wine bars in the city. Happy hour is killer ($26 btls, $8 glasses, $12 for 3 meats/cheeses). And come on Sun or Wed for $1 oysters!
Cooper Smith: An on-its-way-out video rental store born again as a bar, screening classic movies in the back, along with movie trivia, bingo, and other game nights. Arrive early and grab a back corner table
Eater: The extensive cocktail list, executed by a literal assembly line of bartenders, is made of a small collection of classics as well as over 30 of their own selections, all overseen by Leo Robitschek.
