Village Voice: Vegetables (a.k.a. dirt candy) are the stars of this menu, and as freaky as it may sound, one of the best dishes is (drumroll): tiramisu with eggplant.
Jane Chu: This location is the original and is better than the one in SF. Some of the menu items are cheaper than the SF one also. Porterhouse is delicious.
Cover: Incredible, seasonal produce-driven meals foraged from local greenmarkets. Plus, the East Village's best brunch. Always get the kale salad. Pay with Cover and skip waiting for the check!
Eater: ABC Kitchen serves some of the city's best salads, as well as great pizzas and a fancy cheeseburger. And save room for the popcorn-topped ice cream sundae for dessert. [Eater 38 Member]

Lockhart Steele: Skip the pasta, and skip the mushroom pizzas, which everyone seems to love but are actually rather flabby. For pizza, lamb sausage is the move. Also order: anything with burrata.
Dens: Kind of an under-the-radar pick, but the burger here is one of the best I've had in NYC. Also, if you don't order the Scotch Egg I'm going to come down and punch you in the face. It's delicious.
