Great big patio and delicious food. Bouillabaisse and salmon are fantastic as is the butter. Cocktails are a bit overpriced even for Montecito.
Small museum but full of historical information on the area that’s so closely tied to the water. Great for inquisitive kids.
Beautiful state park along the coast. Good short loop hike with great views (if not too foggy) by Whales Peak.

Great wine from a smaller producer. 2019 Estate Pinot rocks as does the Estate Chardonnay and Syrah from Santa Cruz. But, staff is oblivious and more into talking amongst themselves then helping you.
Pretty good pizza and a good selection of tasty beer. Great outdoor seating and perfect for families.
Great seafood restaurant that specializes in local fish. The smoked fish chowder is great. Not as nice a location as it’s sister restaurant in Mendocino, but still wonderful food.
Great free and low key concerts in a beautiful setting. Walk down to avoid the crowded tram in times of Covid.
Fun place to go when it’s hot to get into the mountains if you don’t want to exert a vertical climb with kids. We came down under the chairlift and it was pretty steep but fast.
Beautiful spot and decent cold beer. However as of June 2022 they only have pre-made deli sandwiches for food as they can’t keep a cook.

Wine is surprisingly good (rose and cab sav), and you really can’t beat the view. The food truck is really tasty but it will take twice as long to get your food as they say.

Nice big beach that’s great for kids. Easy large parking lot close to the beach. Bathrooms are gross.

Awesome trail with incredible views over the desert- pretty easy for kids. Can be crowded at the top but totally with it. Walk a bit of the PCT for more views.
Fine easy nature trail to walk around with kids. You may even see a bald eagle soaring above you in the winter.
