Nice walk in the rolling foothills. Sometimes overgrown but good views from underneath the power lines.
Beautiful stretch of beach that is less crowded than the touristy beaches by the resorts.
Good views of the San Gabriel mountains from the easy trails. Watch out for bikers on some of the smaller trails. Nice grove of oaks to check out. Parking is crowded, be prepared to walk.
Very wide fire road with wonderful views of the Channel Islands when it’s clear. Stinks to be right by the 405, but the views make up for the noise.
Great little park that not too many people know about. Be sure to walk to the top and then go down bison road to check out the herd.
Nice hiking trail that leads to a secluded part of the ocean. Not much shade, but nice views of the coast. Small parking lot gets full on weekends but you can park on highway 1.
Cute old seafood restaurant with good cioppino and chowder. Cash only and no reservations which is extremely annoying, but it’s the best game in town for seafood.
Beautiful grove of old oaks with short hikes that you can wander around and explore the neat trees.
Good hike with an odd trailhead. Trail is narrow in places due to wash out.
Great place to learn to ski. Not the best if looking for challenging terrain but you can find some decent steeps at the top. Last run of the day: Sunway without turning in the afternoon light.
Great little rocky beaches with lots of tide pools to explore. Nice to go to sleep hearing the ocean.
Wonderful coastal walk that is one way only during Covid. You can see Hearst Castle from the headlands.
