Amazing fried chicken! Mama Els version is a little crispier, but I prefer the Hill Country Classic style.

The Hill Country classic fried chicken is awesome! Crispy and a little bit of smokey sweet. So yummy!
Lots of cozy seating in the basement. Just watch out, the steps will send you through a time warp straight back to the 1970's. Lite-Brite FTW.

Make sure you save your receipt. It's usually good for 10% off your next meal.
Holy moly! Opening day was crazy! Line out the door. Wait was ~ 40 min. Cool concept and desserts get a 10+. Buttermilk bourbon pie; say no more. My chicken was good but got cold waiting to pay.
Get the chickwich + pecan pie. I haven't actually had this combo yet but I will next time.

The Mama Els' fried chicken and fried mash potatoes are absolutely delicious here.
Pie shakes. Get the pie shakes. Even the weird-sounding flavors (apple cheddar??). So good.
Don't overlook the Chickwich - will be the best chicken sandwich you'll have.
