Vivienne Gucwa5월 18, 2014Forget about food and drinks if you are stuck in C. Just a minimal assortment of Hudson News and Annie's Pretzels (literally). People are an afterthought here.
I just found out Time Warner Cable customers get free wifi at Boingo hotspots! Just choose TWC from the drop down and sign in with your username and password.
If for some reason, you're looking for United Club, it's actually outside the security line. (This airport has an odd layout.) Concourse C, behind the ticket counters.
They have a better selection of cheaper flight offerings than at JFK, but that is about the only positive thing I can say.
If you are flying Delta, all flights do NOT leave from the main terminal so make sure to check the gate letter -- if it begins with C, have the cab drop you off at Terminal C.
If you've landed at Terminal B in the C or D wings the taxi line tends to be shortest at the hidden stand around the corner of Baggage Claim
Getting home by car service? Ask them to meet you at the departures. Instead of going downstairs walk straight out, less traffice, and parking police won't hassle them.
Terminal c and d have good places to order food and drinks. Sit down by an iPad and order away.
Angie Gannon3월 10, 2013Security doesn't open until 4.30am, so while its good to get here early to beat the crowds, don't get here too early. You'll just spend it lining up waiting for them to open.
You can check in online, check bags and the drop them off at the curb outside. You don't need to do it inside. Saved us about 20min of wait time just by doing that.
Vivek Gupta11월 3, 2013The coffee shop in the Terminal B food court is open 24hrs in case you need it.. but it's pricey - $4 for a bottle of water. Take the free shuttle to get between the terminals.
For $2.25 or one Metrocard swipe, you can get downtown via the MTA M60 bus which connects to the N/R Train, also goes across bridge to 125th . During rush hour, its TONS faster than a cab.
While in NY, tune your radios to 92.3 NOW FM and hear me mix all your favorite party jams live every Mon-Fri at 9pm & Sat at 8pm!

Coming in on a Sunday around 4pm/5pmish traffic is a brute, so plan accordingly because you will be in traffic for a bit
Always pick up your loved ones on the departure level. There are no bathrooms near the parking garage.
The m60 bus from manhattan is the best way to get here!!! Super fast and cheap
It never fails that the taxi stand outside the central terminal around the corner has no line while there are over 300 people waiting 350 ft away right outside the doors. Move your feet, sheep!

If flying out of Gate D (American) be sure to stop at the food court before going through security. There's nothing on the other side except a cold deli and Auntie Annies.

If you're in a terminal other than C or D, just go ahead and die to avoid the misery coming your way.
It took me around 90 minutes to get to LGA by subway and bus from 43rd and 6ave and missed my flight. Come early! The reconstruction sucks and you need an extra time because of the airport traffic
Austin Gunter6월 11, 2012Crotch Watch: if you opt out of the pervy X-ray machines, wear a cup, the dude who pats you down has very heavy hands. You don't want to get racked.
Terminal C does NOT have air conditioning. Unless a couple of large fans for a thousand people sounds like effective cooling to you, dress lightly and buy cold water once through security.
If you had to get stuck in a Delta terminal, this is the one you'd want to be stuck in. Plugs are plentiful, iPads for entertainment/ordering food are abundant and seating is everywhere. Not bad.
Laguardia is the easiest airport to get in and out of in all of NYC!!! believe me: I've flown them all and laguardia beats the hoers hands down!!!!

Crunch Gym9월 17, 2010Air travel can be tough on the knees and joints so while in flight, rotate the ankles in a circular motion one at a time. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy your flight.
Water fountain across from B5 gate fills water bottles while in upright position. B6 has Dunkin Donuts (long line at 8am).

If you go to Au Bon Pain and want the yogurt, get the smaller 8 oz size even though you can get the 16 oz for like a dollar more. You don't need that much yogurt.

Meredith A8월 21, 2011Good chance your flight will board close to on time...don't get too excited, be prepared to sit on the tarmac for awhile. This is one airport you definitely DON'T want to be one of the 1st to board.
Apparently, TSA does strictly enforce that you go to through the security lines for your particular gate. So forget about meeting a friend who has a layover on a different airlines.- If you're flying in from the Midwest, the best Manhattan views are on the left side of the plane.

Best airport for hipsters - you simply can't beat a $25, 15-minute cab ride from Williamsburg.
The new terminal is just a delight. There are more food options at the gates after the food court.
Get Southern Burger and Buffalo bites at La Freida Beef, so goooood.
Get free wifi by sitting on the floor near the Sky Club and connecting to "tmobile" and selecting guest on splash screen!
