Be a Local in the East Village

ben m: Definitely one of the better cups of coffee in the hood. Not the most comfortable for work though.

Kim Pham: The banana pudding here is unREAL. Plus, canine cuties are allowed here!

Andrew Cerda: Whether it's the coffee or their blackboard breakfast options, this is a lovely cafe for some alone time wake-me-up... it's teeny.

Kim Pham: Killer xx is a literal godsend.

M. R.: One of the best additions to the neighborhood in years.

Anna Frenkel: The breakfast sandwiches are a revelation. Grab one to go and eat it on a park bench across the street.

Red Fabbri: The best pizza in the neighborhood, and maybe even the city. Eat-in: get the octopus and any of the pizzas. Take-out: the margarita pie and brussels sprout/pancetta white pie, no sides.

Nina Yiamsamatha: Blue ribbon chicken burger. Put some chipotle honey on it and dig in. You won't come up for air until you're finished.

Patrick Hayes: Split a basket of fries

DoubleDeuce: If you run South on the path, there's a great moment, you suddenly notice Lady Liberty at the end of the island. You're in New York City and she's right here with you. Terrible turf fields though.

Ms Helene: Coffee spot by day but dark low-key bar at night with craft beer and spirits set to music by Band of Horses, Grizzly Bear, Strokes etc.

AmateurConcierge: Some of the better Mexican cuisine in lower Manhattan. Ask them to spice up the pineapple margarita, get some guac and whatever entree strikes your fancy

Cassidy: tots v waffle fries? get both, cover with cheez, and grab a PBR tall boy for good measure. look at you, hot stuff.

Jack Gashi: Real solid neighborhood pizza joint. Par for the course.

AmateurConcierge: Get 10 of your friends together and set up a bo ssam dinner. Great price and a whole lotta food

RC: I have to lower many other ramen reviews I've made now. This place is on a different level. So much flavor! Rich broth and the noodles, a good chew. The Char Siu was fall-apart tender. So good!

Anoop Ranganath: $9 for your choice of six fresh pastas and eleven sauces. Absolutely delicious and easily the best pasta value in the East Village.

Omer Zach: From 5 to 7 every day $21.50 gets you miso soup, a salad, 4 appetizers, 4 skewers, a sushi roll, 3 nigiri pieces, a scoop of ice cream, and hot tea. One of the best deals in the East Village.

Red Fabbri: Our favorite restaurant in the 'hood. Amazing local American food. Kale Salad, heritage pork, and a must-have rotating dessert. Everything on the menu is good and seasonal.

Jon Steinback: only open thursday - sunday, but you can get their scoops and pints at sustainable nyc around the corner other days.

Kathryn Yu: Go to Webster Hall to see a band. If you have a paper ticket, the line is usually further down the block. Don't get stuck in the will-call line.

DoubleDeuce: Mostly I come here for the Happy Hour prices but it's got a unique energy for being a mostly red-light lit cocktail bar. And it's small-group themed, so it's lots of small, quirky, fun conversations.

Suri R: Order off-the-menu cocktails, always. They make a mean Sazerac and Mint Julep.

J Crowley: One of my favorite bars in the east village. Buck hunter, skee ball, darts, and pool tables. Play all four games in a World Series with your friends.

Dens: If the Blue Mountain bourbon barrel ale is on tap, get it. And the olives. And the cheese w the little truffle nuggets baked in.

Ranu Rajkarnikar: Lots of tv's, great bloody marys and buck hunter/pinball. Friendly staff, chill vibe and all around great neighborhood dive. You can even order food in, no problem.

Yera Ha: Fun 4am weekend activity: try every flavor of pierogi topped with apple sauce with a buddy.
