Came for breakfast. Waffles were delicious, pancakes were just ok. I assume they are better for dinner/meat-related items. Decor and service are great.

Sat at one of the bars to eat bc the wait was over an hour. Steve was the best - super friendly and entertaining!

Oysters are $18 for a dozen, half price during happy hour. Although fresh, they lack taste and flavour.

It’s Washington to a T! Clubby, circa-1900 atmosphere. Around the corner from the White House. A well-supplied bar. Bounteous seafood. Cheerful service. Kind of touristy but still fun.

Make a reservation if you plan on doing lunch or dinner during prime times. It can be a mad house but it's excellent.

Brunch: The Breakfast Club - french toast, stuffed with ham/cheese, wrapped in bacon, baked crisp with vermont Maple Syrup... OMG!!!! Skip the fruit and order a side of cheddar grits.

Don't get a table sit at the bar and ask for Michael. Have a strawberry basil lemon aid. You will thank me later.

The back bar has the best bartenders in the place. It's also the best place in town for a DC power breakfast. Excellent people watching in the am.

It's popular with locals & tourists alike, but visitors may not know about the great happy hour @ Old Ebbitt. Go there b4 6 or after 11pm to enjoy half price oysters, steps away from the White House.
