Haruka Tenou9월 2, 2013The charging stations in terminal b do not work. Annoying. Otherwise no complaints. Very easy to get here from nj transit. Cheaper flights than in JFK or la guardia.
Bus to Grand Central on $15 each way. Comes every 15 min. Takes 40 mins. Go dwnstrs to stop #2. Taxi will cost you approx $70 w tip and tolls.
Out of the three tri state airports this ranks as number two. Outside the United Terminal, terminals B & C are pitiful. The Airtrain is slow tiny and old. So be sure to allocate the appropriate time

Do yourself and your travel companion a favor and take a car service. You deserve it and its worth the extra cash.

Newark has made some improvements. It’s not exactly comfortable, but it gets the job done.

There is a shuttle, which no one knows about, between terminals. Do ask about it.

Use automatic tickets machines whenever possible bc check-in lines here get LOONNNGGG. Also, the SAS Biz Class lounge looks like an IKEA cafeteria and opens at 4pm daily.
Don't let the Terminal A security checkpoint fool you, stay for the first x-ray machine!

Try to avoid the PDA couple when taking the weirdly divided AirTrain cars that fit, well you and that couple
For God sake! I know the environment is important but put the freaking paper towels back in the restrooms! Those air dryers blow! And not in a good way!
Arrive a bit earlier on Mondays or equivalents for TSAPee Check at terminal C. Just not enough space or people.
Taxi line makes you prepay if you want to use credit card, and adds a $5.50 fee. That is some bullshit... and seems illegal?
Avoid like the plague for a few years. Much need upgrades happening but at a huge short term cost to current passengers.
Airtrains run every 15 minutes to the terminal in the early morning...so don't push your time for a 5 or 6 am flight.

The best thing about being here is that it means you are leaving here. Unless you just got here. In which place, you're hosed.

Serves as hub for United, perennial challenger for worst airline in America. Their airport is a key part of their reign of futility.
For all the complaints I might have about TSA, EWR is usually one of the quicker, more professional airport experiences.
Don't take the first security line in term a. Keep walking past it after you've passed the initial checkpoint. Much shorter lines there.
