Go for the TSA PreCheck program if you are qualified. No security line. Amazing.
Hub for United. You can take the air train and NJ transit to get into Manhattan.

Be prepared to wait at baggage claim an inordinate amount of time. It is never timely. Have a book and a cup of coffee. No bathrooms on bagclaim levels.
AT&T service is bizarrely poor here. You'll get a decent signal but speeds sometimes 1% of what you'd expect. Slow, unreliable, paid wifi so download your entertainment before you leave.
Airtrains run every 15 minutes to the terminal in the early morning...so don't push your time for a 5 or 6 am flight.
Duty free shop on the gate C120 side (left from security) has a better selection if sunblock than the store by gates C105.

A bit confusing to navigate, but the employees are always helpful if you have questions
Go to Iron Bound section of Newark for some good Portuguese and Brazilian Food. Fernandes has great rodizio!

Lloyd5월 16, 2013There are no duty free in the terminal so if you want to buy booze and cigarettes as gifts better do it before hand.
Avoid like the plague for a few years. Much need upgrades happening but at a huge short term cost to current passengers.
Andrew Rogalski3월 14, 2012Airtrain is on reduced schedule for maintenance. If you take NJ transit you have to change trains at P4 to get to where you wanna go.
From my experience, this airport is a little easier to fly in and out of compared to LGA and JFK. Getting there is another story.
The Oyster Bar is the place to sit down and eat if you have time between flights
If you have a smart phone, save time and paper by not printing out a ticket and letting the security/gate agents just scan the barcode on you phone after you have done the electronic check-in ^_^.
